About SJ Van Horn

SJ Van Horn is a Fresno entrepreneur, business owner, and community advocate running for Fresno City Council District 2.

For more than three decades, SJ has built businesses, created jobs, and worked alongside employees, customers, and community leaders throughout Fresno. His experience working directly with local businesses has shaped his belief that City Hall should be a partner—not a barrier—to those investing in Fresno.

His campaign is centered on strengthening neighborhoods, improving public safety, supporting responsible economic growth, and making city government more responsive and efficient for residents and businesses alike.

About SJ

SJ Van Horn has spent his career building businesses and creating opportunities throughout the Central Valley.

As the founder of successful local businesses, he understands firsthand the challenges facing entrepreneurs, employees, and families. His experience navigating permitting, regulations, workforce development, and economic growth has given him practical insight into how city government can better serve residents.

SJ has been active throughout Fresno’s civic community, supporting local charitable events, neighborhood improvement projects, community fundraisers, and political organizations. He has worked alongside elected officials, labor leaders, business owners, and nonprofit organizations because he believes meaningful progress happens when people work together.

His vision is a Fresno where neighborhoods are safer, businesses thrive, infrastructure keeps pace with growth, and every family has the opportunity to succeed.
